2017-06-22 - The organ was originally installed in 1907 as 3/39 Casavant Op. 302; it was badly damaged when lightning struck the tall cathedral spire on July 3, 1911, resulting in burning material and melted bells crashing through the roof of the choir. The organ was replaced in 1912 by 4/43 Casavant Op. 488, which had a duplicate stoplist with the addition of an Echo division - material considered 'good as new' from Op. 302 was to be reused; Casavant renovated the organ and installed a new console in 1957 as Op. 2399. -Database Manager
