It was acquired by the wife of a Seattle-area Episcopal priest - Joan Thompson. When they couple retired and moved to Vashon Island, WA they gave the organ to Christ Church in Anacortes. It was installed there by that parish's former rector Rev. Marvin H. Blake, who also added the wooden 16' Bourdon extension pipes outside the case. Their origins are unknown. The organ was dedicated during Epiphany in 2003, sadly after Rev. Blake had died. The front of the case is covered by folding glass doors, and the expression louvers are in the ceiling of the case. The original expression louver mechanism was a long clutch cable which had corroded from the salt air and was no longer functional. In May, 2016 – Puget Sound Pipe Organs built a new wooden system of mechanical connection from expression shoe to ceiling louvers to replace the cable. Also, the Pedal 16' Bourdon was moved to the left to uncover a memorial stained glass window, and elevated on legs to avoid blocking a floor heating duct. In June/July 2017, Puget Sound Pipe Organs rebuilt the keydesk area and did a solid state conversion. A new keydesk platform was installed. Replacement re- cycled keyboards from Burlington Lutheran in Burlington, WA. were installed with a new key spring return system. Terraced stopjambs were built for both sides of the manuals. The bottom terrace holds the Pedal stops. The middle terrace is the Great, and the top terrace is the Swell. A new Syndyne solid state relay and combination action was installed. Future plans include enlarging the organ to five (5) ranks, and the relay is fully prepared for the additions. To be added are a used Estey 8' Stopped Diapason already in the church's possession, an 8' Dulciana, and an independent 2-2/3' Nasard. The Principal will be moved to a ledge over the nave entry and a Haskelled 8' bass added. Sources: JRS, extant organ Documented: July 18, 2017
