2017-08-20 - In 1955, while fire sprinklers were being installed throughout the building, a water leak badly damaged the organ. The instrument was restored by Casavant, who submitted a proposal for modifications. The instrument was modernized by Casavant in 1957. A new detached console was installed and a 16' Bombarde stop was added to the Pédale division. Due to lack of space, the addition of this new stop meant the removal of the manually operated wind system. In 1998 the organ was restored by Guilbault-Thérien with minor tonal changes. -Database Manager
