2017-11-17 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by William Dunklin, listing this website as a source of information: http://barton.theatreorgans.com/.
The Strand was a modest 460 seat theatre built into an existing retail space, opening on February 21, 1918. About a year later Kilgen opus 3017 was installed. It was not, however, a theatre organ design but rather a small, mostly straight church design: Open Diapason, Stopped Diapason, Melodia, Dulciana, Oboe Gamba, Vox Humana. It was reportedly moved to the First Baptist Church of Elberton, Georgia, and has since been destroyed. The building that housed the Strand Theatre still stands as of 2017. -Database Manager
