2023-11-13 - From the Stoughton Historical Society webste:* "Three years after the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of its founding, the church building was destroyed by fire on Oct. 22, 1944."* From First Lutheran Church-150th Anniversary, 1866-2016, Page 7, *"The fire was believed to be caused by faulty wiring beneath the console of the pipe organ, located in the choir balcony."* -Jim Stettner
