2020-11-30 - From the NYC AGO NYC Organ Project: The Windsor Terrace United Methodist Church was organized c.1893, and a wooden edifice was built at Prospect and Greenwood Avenues. This building was demolished in 1954 to make way for the Prospect Expressway, and a new church was erected at Vanderbilt Street and East 3rd Street. In the mid-1990s, the congregation merged with Park Slope United Methodist Church. The Estey Organ Company Shop Order, dated June 15, 1912, states that their Op. 1006 for Windsor Terrace Methodist Church was to be voiced "Strong" on 4" wind pressure. Estey provided an oak case measuring 14 feet 9 inches tall that had bronzed front pipes. The organ cost $2500, with $1500 donated by Andrew Carnegie. -Jeff Scofield
