2018-04-16 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by J. A. Hefner, listing this website as a source of information: http://www.zionspringfield.org/about/history. J. A. Hefner also gave this as a source of information: Postcard ca. 1900.
According to Zion Lutheran's history, the church was built at the corner of Columbia and Plum Streets in 1867. A ca. 1900 postcard shows a two-manual pipe organ, nameplate visible but illegible [in the style of Barckhoff, Johnson, or Lancashire-Marshall?].
Estey opus 2844 replaced it in 1929, and the church was moved to a new facility in 1960. -Database Manager
2018-04-16 - Updated by J. A. Hefner, who gave this as the source of the information: OHS Database archives.
While the visible nameplate reminded me of Hinners, the plate, facade and the pipe mouths look strikingly similar to Wirsching opus 15 [1888, OHS ID 14486]. If a Wirsching opus list is available, check for entries in Springfield, Ohio. -Database Manager
