2021-01-22 - This organ was purchased from a theater, albeit an unnamed theater per an article in the Star-Gazette of Elmira, New York. Waverly Methodist purchased the instrument in 1933. It was installed by Paul H. Kelly, an organ builder from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This organ replaced a single manual organ that was sold and installed in the Athens Baptist Church. No mention in this article is made of the further specifications of either of these instruments. However, the congregation's website makes mention confirming the date that the organ was installed in 1933, and that it was later rebuilt again with the addition of an echo in the balcony. My research is ongoing and more information on the full specifications will be uncovered, no doubt. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/66720428/teller-kent-organ-elmira-ny/ -Ian Scheil
