2018-07-09 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. <br>Identified by William Dunklin, listing this website as a source of information: http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/1925.<br>The Barton organ was installed in 2 chambers, one at each side of the stage. A glowing review of the organist and mention of the Barton are seen in Moving Picture World, September 2, 1922. The lengthy article begins "Dr. Hyland Elman Slatre-Wilson now presides at the big three manual Barton Orchestral Organ installed in Saxe Brothers' half-million dollar Orpheum Theatre, Kenosha, Wisconsin..."<br><br>The Orpheum Theatre has been long closed, the lobby converted to retail uses and the auditorium used for storage. As of July 2018 it is under threat of demolition. Fate of the Barton is unknown. -Database Manager
