2004-10-30 - Cost $3,500. [Replaced an earlier 2m Odell, Op. 160, 1877, which burned with the church in 1898.] Moved to Okolona Baptist, Louisville, KY in 1973 after church merged with Hutchinson Presbyterian, to form St. John's in former Hutchinson (earlier 2nd Pres.) bldg. [First Prebyterian Church in New Albany merged with Hutchinson (the merger of the Second and Third) Presbyterian in 1969, to form St. John United Presbyterian, meeting in the former Hutchinson (Second) building. Because St. John's already had an organ (Aeolian-Skinner Op. 1039, 1942, a 3m instrument incorporating the case and many pipes of Hook and Hastings Op. 1126, 1883), the Odell was offered for sale, and eventually given to Okolona Baptist. Okolona parishoners dismantled, moved, and reinstalled the instrument in its new home, supervised by George Payne. The dedicatory recital was presented by Culpepper Elliott on Januray 13, 1974.] -Database Manager
