2007-07-21 - Updated through online information from Mark Henderson. -- The organ is currently undergoing historical restoration which began July 2007, and is expected to be completed mid 2008. The organ has the original 65 note pressure operated player system that has been untouched as have the original mechanics of the organ. The original 30 note pedalboard has dissapeared as have several ranks of original pipework ( this pipework will be replaced by several ranks from the now silent Hillgreen & Lane opus 358 and 359, which have almost identical pipework as op. 357 with the exception of the oboe stop( which will have to be aquired elsewhere), and the pedalboard will be replaced by a 30 note concave radiating pedalboard which was long ago installed on one of the other organs. The restoration will be of an historic nature and all Tubular pneumatic systems, as well as the 65 note player Will be preserved and restored for the wonderment of future generations. The organ will be reinstalled in the space of opus 358 which is on the third floor of the lodge as this space is within the center of the building, is used much more frequently, and is climate controlled. The facade pipework which consists of 45 gold painted pipes, 15 of which are the lower of the Great Open Diapason will be stripped, repainted and tastefully stenciled to accent the ornate Lodge room in which it is placed. -Database Manager
