2018-11-14 - Updated by William M. Worden

On June 27, 1901, the Detroit Free Press reported that the new organ donated by prominent Detroiters Mr. & Mrs. William E. Scotten would be dedicated that evening. That organ was in the chapel that was the first building of Immanual Presbyterian. On June 5, 1911, the same paper announced that the dedication of the new main sanctuary would be delayed Because the installation of the organ was not complete. At this time it is unknown whether this was a new instrument or the chapel instrument moved to the new building. Photos of the organ in the main sanctuary of Immanuel show the same pipe facade that is present in the building today. -Database Manager
