2019-01-07 - The cathedral was closed in 2017 for an over $6 million renovation project that is expected to be completed by 2020. In 2019, it became an acadian museum: the "MR21 - Cathédrale numérique". The Monument of Recognition in the 21st Century or MR21 is an interpretation center located at the cathedral . The Center offers digital installations, including a 360-degree show that tells the story of the life of Bishop Arthur Melanson, the first Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Moncton and the one who built the cathedral. The center also offers visitors two large interactive terminals that allow them to discover the history hidden in the historiated windows of the transept. -Database Manager
