2023-03-13 - From the Missouri Digital Heritage website, *"The Byers Avenue Methodist Church formed as an outgrowth of First M.E. Church. It dedicated its Gothic-revival brick building on Thanksgiving Day, 1899. The church, which cost $4,200 to construct, featured a 30-foot tall square towered entry and a 300-seat sanctuary with luminous stained glass windows."* *"The outstanding Himmer [sic] pipe organ originally cost $10,000 but is worth considerably more than that now. It was installed in 1928 and refurbished in 1964." * -Jim Stettner
