2019-09-14 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Jimmy Thompson, citing information from this publication: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/4157894/rev_j_w_st_stephens/. Noted in "Goldsboro Messenger" newspaper article for 22 September 1879 (giving a history of the parish on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the consecration of the church building (still in use 2019) and 10th anniversary of the incumbent rector Rev. J. W. Larmour). Final paragraph reads: "The church organ is the only pipe organ in Goldsboro, and was manufactured by Jordine & Son [sic]. It is an instrument of remarkable compass for its size, and of extraordinary sweetness of tone." -Database Manager
