Notes

2019-10-07 - Updated through online information from G. Mark Caldwell. -- I am the present owner of Wicks Opus 4654. As of this date (6/1/16) it is a work in progress. I received the organ with no keyboards, no switching mechanisms, no pedalboard and no bench. My employer, Roger Banks, of Edmond Oklahoma gave me the keyboards, pedalboard and bench from Reuter Opus 1921, formerly in Norman, OK. I also harvested components from a Peterson Diode Matrix playing system from another Reuter instrument in Norman, OK which Roger installed a new Matter playing system on. I am working on it as I have the time and have it playing, but am chasing down dead notes and getting them fixed. Once this is all done, and I have a means of controlling the stops (I need to build a nameboard/"console" enclosure), then I will do some tonal finishing with Roger Banks. The pipes are presently voiced a bit loud to be comfortably used in a residence setting. -Database Manager

2022-08-19 - The construction of this instrument was completed about a year ago. The Reuter keyboards and pedal clavier have all been added and casework modified as necessary. The metal pipework was originally Wicks' open-toe voicing. This pipework was all sent to the Reuter Organ company where it went through their voicing studios. The toes were all coned in to enable proper voicing, and the flues all worked with for proper voicing, adding judicious nicking to get rid of open-toed "trash". The Gemshorn was voiced to be a light Principal tone, and the Flute blends nicely to fill out the ensemble. The Peterson playing system had a 32-foot Resultant for the flute rank, which was used on this instrument. It is now a very pleasant practice instrument. -George Mark Caldwell
