2019-10-26 - In the late 1990's the condition of the organ began to notably decay. Water damage from roof leaks became evident. Original cotton-wrapped wiring from 1920's was creating issues. Plaster had fallen into pipes causing damage. This was in both the front and back organs. An Organ Committee was formed in 2006 to assess the condition of the organ and make recommendations. In 2009, Austin began a 1.3 million dollar project of staged renovations which included new wiring, repairs to damage pipework, windchest releathering, new chamber walls, new lighting and electrical service to the chambers, Antiphonal and Gallery Pedal enhancements, Walker additions, and solid state conversion. in 2016 Austin determined that additional funds were required to complete the project. An additional $250,000.00 was donated. The project was completed in October 2016 with rededication on October 13, 2016. -Database Manager
