2023-06-25 - From: *Central United Church 100th Anniversary: 1862-1962*: "In 1956, renovations were made in the sanctuary. The gothic arch of the choir loft was replaced by a theatre-type flat arch. The choir seating and triple manual organ console were located behind grill work, in front of which was placed the Communion Table with a pulpit and lectern at either side of the arch space. To the right and left of the pulpits and lecterns, the pipes of the organ were encased on wood framing against the front wall of the sanctuary. Seating was rearranged to give a centre aisle ... The dedication of the sanctuary and of the organ was carried out by the Minister, the Rev. Hugh Pritchard, on January 6, 1957, at the morning service." -Andrew Henderson
