Kerner & Merchant (2004)

First Baptist Church: Santuary
27 Broad Street
Hamilton, NY

Notes

2020-07-27 - The original organ was a 1905 Estey installed in front behind an immense, 7-section pipe fence facade containing 63 gold-painted pipes arranged: 14-5-10-5-10-5-14, and with an attached, centered console. Kerner and Merchant have been adding to the organ since 1984 and after 2004 for which this entry is made. This was the addition of a 5-rank, 9 speaking stop expressive Antiphonal division in the rear gallery. The church website about the organ states, *"The eminent Will Headlee, now Professor Emeritus of organ at Syracuse University, presented a recital in June, 2004, to celebrate both the completion of the new organ division (an appropriate plaque is affixed to a wall of the balcony chamber) and to mark the centennial of the chancel organ (original Estey), whose contract was signed in 1904."* -Jim Stettner
