2024-09-21 - It is not known when the Hillgreen was removed, or what happened to the assembly room-chapel. By the early 1960s the building known as "Old Main" had a modern auditorium with a stage and proscenium, and a new Schlicker two-manual organ was installed in 1963 , reportedly in a gallery to the left of the stage. It is presumed, given the available space in this building, that this performance theatre-style venue may have been an architectural remodeling of the large central "chapel" shown in the picture for this entry. The Schlicker was eventually moved into the new King Concert Hall on campus in 1968, where it was enlarged to three manuals. Old Main was retired as a classroom facility ca. 1973 and decommissioned as a campus facility, eventually being converted to affordable senior housing in the 1980s after having sat dormant for some years. I would therefore presume that this performance auditorium no longer exists within this historic structure and the space has been converted to apartments. -Scot Huntington
