Notes

2020-12-15 - The First Baptist Skinner organ was moved at some point, in whole or part, to Mt. Alverno Boys Home in Ohio. The Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis Seraph arrived in Cincinnati in 1837. The brothers first ran a home for boys in the basin area of Cincinnati. In 1869, the brothers purchased a 106 acre estate in Delhi, which they named Mount Alverno. The boys home became the Protectory for Boys, or, as commonly known, Mount Alverno School. The school existed from 1871 to 1972, when it was demolished after sale of the land for a housing development. Mount Alverno was a nearly self-sufficient community with an operating farm and residences. -Paul R. Marchesano
