2021-02-03 - Note from Victoria (Vicky) Lee on 2/3/2021 (vlee@glide.org): "I’m not sure the organ even works anymore. It resides in our sanctuary balcony. We've not used it for at least 40 years. I heard they stopped using it because of the delays from the balcony. We use an 8 piece band now and two electronic keyboards. Well, we did until March last year." I submitted an entry yesterday for this church. Based on other documents I read, I inferred that the first instrument in the bldg, built in 1923, was an E. M. Skinner. This may well be the case, but this is the most recent organ built for the bldg in any case. The present MPM organ was built in 1953, 30 y after the bldg was built. Will let you know if I find anymore info about them/it. -Rev. Dr. Van Herd
2021-02-05 - It is believed that the organ, itself, is actually Estey Op. 2943 (1930) that was to be installed at Franklin Memorial Methodist Church, San Francisco; however, Franklin Memorial closed within a few short months and the organ is believed tohave been either delivered, instead, to Glide Memorial or relocated there if it had already been installed at Franklin Memorial; the organ has not been used for many years. -Jeff Scofield
2021-02-07 - Updated through online information from Rev. Dr. Van Herd. -- Console was in the right side of the chancel; now stored in rear gallery. -Jim Stettner
