2023-03-20 - From *The Buffalo Commercial* (January 7, 1876): "A contract has been made for a new organ for the Delaware Avenue Methodist Church. The builders are to be Messrs. Johnson & Son of Westfield, Mass., and the instrument is to be in every way worthy of the beautiful edifice. The same firm erected the organ in Trinity Church last May, and the artistic voicing, thorough workmanship, and almost perfect action of that instrument went a great way in securing for Johnson & Co. this larger and more expensive contract ... The contract calls for a full assortment of Accessory stops, Combination pedals, and other mechanical contrivances of latest and most approved designs. The organ will be by far the most complete in Western New York; as will be recognized by all who have practical knowledge of organ specifications. It is fortunate that Buffalo is to possess so fine an instrument, and very comforting to know that such an extensive contract has been obtained by builders who are sure to do it full justice. The organ will be almost similar to one erected by Johnson & Son quite recently for St. James' Church, Chicago. The same firm are now constructing the twenty-fifth church organ which they have erected in that one city." -Andrew Henderson
