2021-04-05 - The St. Boniface congregation was organized in 1958, with the 2,400-square-foot church completed in 1965, according to Tinley Park Historical Society's Brad Bettenhausen. Organ moved here in 1985 from Elim Evangelical Free Church in South Chicago, apparently altered and enlarged. Saint Boniface Church closed on December 26, 2004. The organ was offered for sale in July of 2005 through the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, as the building had sold and was scheduled for demolition. Tinley Park district was moving to permanently acquire the 4.62-acre property, owned by St. Boniface Episcopal Church since the early 1960s. Several residents said the yellow brick building has become a hazard since 2005, when the congregation was absorbed into other parishes. -- *Chicago Tribune, *June 18, 2013. -Paul R. Marchesano
