2021-04-27 - This organ was BADLY modified in the 1970's. Most of its original tonal character was completely destroyed in an effort to modernize the organ into a neo-Baroque instrument. It was not even slightly successful. Very little of the original pipework remained unaltered. We were able to save the Stopped Flute, Melodia, Octave, and the bottom 19 pipes of the Diapason which are in the facade. Due to the condition of the 100 year old windchests and the nearly impossible tuning access it was decided to provide new windchests along with new electrical and a new wind system. The result is an essentially new chassis within the existing casework. -Allen Moe
