Notes

2021-08-31 - The organ was installed in 1932 and an Antiphonal installed in 1957; at some point prior to my visit in September 1995, a previous organist had Allen drawknobs, couplers and pistons installed; this is reflected in the console photo; a very simple curtain covers the organ chamber; the nave is very live and the organ sounded quite good during my visit; the console was built for Aeolian-Skinner Op. 991 in 1940 for their organ at Broadway Tabernacle (Congregational) in New York City. When that church closed in 1969, the console found its way to Sacred Heart after stopovers in South Orange NJ and with Carl Loesser in Plainfield NJ. -Jeff Scofield
