Notes

2021-09-23 - Identified through online information from Francis Cummings. -- Los Angeles, St. Paul's Catholic Church at Washington and Bronson Ave. has a Geo. Kilgen and Sons, 3MP. 2 consoles. one 2mp downstairs, and 3 MP in choir loft. about 44 ranks. It had an echo organ of about 9 ranks. I learned on the instrument 1968-1973. It was in bad shape about 1979. -Jim Stettner

2021-09-24 - This Kilgen was quite nice. I learned to play organ on it in 1968. The main console is in the rear Choir Loft. It is a 3MP. Attached to the console to the right of the Choir manual "Box of 10 push buttons" to play the tower bells. I don't think the bells are working anymore. Over each division tabs was a cancel "button" more like a 2" bar with the division name on it. Typical Kilgen. I think the old console in the New York Catholic Cathedral looked like this one. The 2nd console at the front left side of the pews, under the Echo Organ. It is a 2MP. The Choir was played on the Great. If playing this console, it was always a good idea to use a stop on the Echo as your "monitor" for the delay was distracting. -Francis Cummings

2021-09-24 - The Echo division mixture chest has toggle switches to turn off each rank of the 3 rk Mixture for tuning. There was an English Horn on the Choir division. -Francis Cummings

2022-04-21 - The 3-manual gallery console has stop controls for the gallery and sanctuary organs; the 2-manual sanctuary console can only play the gallery organ by using the crescendo pedal. -Jeff Scofield
