2021-09-30 - Identified from the 1995 Dedication Program of the well-traveled and rebuilt organ. This organ was originally built in 1870 by Marshall Bros. of Wisconsin for the Grand Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri. When that congregational built their new Temple, the Skinner company of Boston, Mass. moved the Marshall Bros. to the Assembly Hall of the new church and installed it on original slider chests with electro-pneumatic pull-down and stop actions and a new blower. Some tonal modifications were also made. During the Great Depression, the organ was sold to First Church of Christ, Scientist in Kansas City, Kansas. This was the installation of that organ. When this congregation sold its building in 1993, the organ was once again for sale. Quimby Pipe Organs Inc. purchased the instrument in July 1994, and it was rebuilt and installed at Saint John LaLande Church of Blue Springs, Missouri in 1995. -Jim Stettner
