Notes

2021-10-16 - Identified from the Hutchings opus list as published in the Boston Organ Club Newsletter, Fall 1981-Fall 1982, page 21; and also from history notes in the dedication program for the 2016 Noack organ. This organ was installed in a major renovation and rebuild of the church's original 1827 house of worship. The Hutchings replaced a I-manual E. & G.G. Hook, Opus 276, 1860 built for the original incarnation of the 1826 meeting house. On December 13, 1898 a packed meetinghouse enjoyed the organ’s dedicatory recital, presumably played by Mrs. Henry K. Hannah, music director. It is said that the Hook was sold to a church in Boston. Both organ and church were lost to a devastating fire on October 2, 1924. -Jim Stettner
