Notes

2021-12-13 - Noted in a history of the church, *The First Hundred Years: Pawcatuck Seventh Day Baptist Church, Westerly, Rhode Island, 1840–1940*, the church minutes first mention an organ in 1855, passing a motion to insure the organ for $500. This amount would cover a small one-manual pipe organ, and such an instrument would have been installed in the spacious rear gallery. This organ was replaced by a new two-manual organ by Reuben Midmer & Son in 1884, as part of an expansion of the liturgical front of the church. -Scot Huntington
