2022-01-10 - Details of this instrument may be found in the Grimbsy Independent, August 13, 1924. It was reported that this instrument was second-hand, originally built by Edward Lye & Sons and originally exhibited at the Canadian National Exhibition (in 1892, according to the Canadian Encyclopedia), although its whereabouts between 1892 and 1924 is unknown. The organ cost $950 and was installed by C. Franklin Legge without alteration. Legge and his wife, a soprano soloist at Metropolitan Methodist Church in Toronto, were among the musicians featured in the dedication concert on July 31 of that year. The organ was replaced by Casavant Frères, Opus 1885, in 1947. -Andrew Henderson
