Notes

2022-01-26 - In the 1950s, our founding pastor and his wife, the Rev. Elwood J. and Doris Bailey, met with a group of friends for Bible study. Wishing for a church home, the group established Sunday worship and Sunday school, and founded the Middletown Community Church. The growing congregation incorporated as Church of the Loving Shepherd in 1968, and purchased part of a Penn land grant farm in 1971. Renaming the farm “Bournelyf,” middle English meaning “stream of life,” the congregation began the long process of restoring its buildings and grounds. -- from church website -Paul R. Marchesano
