2022-02-06 - The heavily-unified Midmer-Losh organ in the upper church was installed in 1930 at a cost of $17,760. The number 5519 appears throughout the organ, but it is unlikely that the Midmer firm ever built that many instruments. The Great Diapason 8' is an unusual "double languid" diapason, a genre characterized by Ernest M. Skinner as being "suitable to a baseball park." The "serpent-hood" Great Trumpet 8' is a type of low-pressure Post Horn designed to create and project brilliant harmonics. -- *1994 OHS Handbook* -Paul R. Marchesano

2024-08-30 - Original contract signed September 7, 1929. -Jim Stettner
