2022-02-06 - This entry represents the installation of a used organ based upon notes in the 1992 Organ Historical Society Convention Handbook, p. 73, *"The First Universalist Society of Biddeford was organized that same year [1827]. Their first church building was on Storer Street in Saco; in 1859 they had to sell it. By 1868 they had raised enough money to build a new church on City Square in Biddeford. Just what the organ in that building may have been, history does not reveal, but it was sold in 1902 to make way for installation of the large 2m 1865 E. L. Holbrook from the former Pavillion Congregational Church in Biddeford. In 1917, the Holbrook was replaced by the McArthur Memorial Organ, built by the Estey Co. Op 1580, 1917."* -Jim Stettner
