2022-02-11 - The instrument was to be installed in a case made of chestnut with a plain grille facade at a cost of $3,750.00, donated by James Depew, a generous benefactor of the church. It is possible that this instrument was rebuilt by the C. Franklin Legge Organ Co., as the church's longtime organist, Marjorie Slinn, has stated that the instrument in the church prior to the current Walcker Organ was a Legge instrument. It is conjectured that the Lye organ's electric action may have been unreliable, hence the need for rebuilding work. -Andrew Henderson
