2022-11-01 - In 1817, the congregation purchased a pipe organ from Jacob Hilbus of Washington, D.C., for the sum of $1,650. It is believed that this was the first organ used by a Presbyterian congregation in the United States. In 1835, the church burned and only parts of the building walls were left standing.
