2022-03-22 - The organ was originally installed in the chapel of newly built École de musique Vincent-d'Indy located at 200 Av. Vincent-D'Indy, Outremont, QC H2V 2T2. This building was inaugurated in 1961. In 1981 the Vincent-d'Indy music school moved to the same building as the Pensionnat du Saint-Nom-de-Marie at 628 Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Outremont, QC H2V 2C5. The Casavant organ Opus 2581 was then moved to the Marie-Stéphane concert hall, which was formally the congregations chapel. 1n 1982 the original Vincent-d'Indy building was sold to the Université de Montréal and became the Faculty of Music Pavillion. The former chapel where Casavant Opus 2581 was originally installed is now a concert hall and was recently renamed Salle Serge-Garant. The main concert hall in this building is the Salle Claude-Champagne, which still contains the remains of a four manual Ruffatti organ. -Mario Leroux
