2022-05-02 - According to "A History of Zion Presbyterian Church" by D. Scott Macdonald, a contract was signed for a new organ in 1912 at a cost of $3,500, and the church was dedicated in 1913. It is also noted that the organ was, in fact, second-hand (though likely newly built), having been stored in a warehouse for one year prior to delivery. The instrument was replaced by an entirely new Casavant organ, Op. 2742 (1963), though it is probable that a substantial portion of the original casework was reused. -Andrew Henderson
