Notes

2025-01-09 - The article "Central Christian Church: Splendid New Edifice Being Used for Service; Grand Pipe Organ Expected Soon," Walla Walla Evening Statesman, Monday, September 17, 1906, 8 (Newspapers.com, https://www.newspapers.com/image/201708848) announced, "The fine new organ for the Central Christian Church may arrive any day. It was expected for last Saturday but the complete services of the church were carried on morning and evening yesterday without it. The new organ will be of Kimball make, a large tubular pneumatic with detached consul [sic]." The arrival of the organ appears to have been delayed, for it was not until March 30, 1907, that the Walla Walla Evening Statesman announced that Easter services would use "the new Kimball pneumatic pipe organ" ("Easter Services at the Central Christian," Walla Walla Evening Statesman, Saturday, March 30, 1907, 3, Newspapers.com, https://www.newspapers.com/image/194812180; see under "Documents"). The fate of the organ is unknown as of this writing. -Charles Eberline
