2022-05-26 - The organ was briefly mentioned in an article in the *Fort Wayne Evening Sentinel*, July 28, 1899, announcing the rededication of the remodeled church: "The improvements on Salem Reformed church on Clinton street are practically completed, and next Sunday the edifice will be re-dedicated to divine worship. . . . The work of remodeling the church began in April last, and has necessitated an outlay of about $6,000 exclusive of the cost of the new pipe organ. . . . At the north side was built an addition for the pulpit and organ loft, and immediately in the rear of the pulpit is the pastor's study. . . . A handsome new pipe organ built by Hinners & Albertsen, of Pekin, Ill., has been installed, and new carpets and new lighting fixtures complete the improvements upon the interior. The seating capacity of the remodeled church is 500." The article was accompanied by a "SKETCH showing PULPIT and ORGAN" and a "SKETCH for proposed CHANGES to SALEM REFORMED CHURCH Fort Wayne Ind. Alfred Grindle, Architect."
