Notes

2022-10-29 - Identified through several local newspaper reports of the installation and dedication, including the *Franklin Repository (Daily),* 27 Feb 1885, *The News-Letter*, 14 Feb 1885. Newspaper article states it is "Number 14", but Opus 14 was built in 1863 for Pilgrim Congregational Church, Harwichport, MA. There is a possibility that it is Opus 214, which aligns with the date of its contract and manufacture; this needds to be researched further before any conlusions can be drawn. Organ was an anonymous gift. Odell notified the church in the fall of 1884 that a gift was given tot he church of a new organ to be built for them if they accepted the anonymous donation. They voted to do so and it was installed in Febrary 1885. The specification has not been located thus far. Destroyed/seriously damaged in a devastating fire that gutted the church in 1938 that left the church with one wall intact. -Paul R. Marchesano
