2022-12-06 - The *Kansas City Star*, February 6, 1910, announced the pending installation of the organ: The new pipe organ for the Washington Avenue Methodist Church in Kansas City, Kas., is now ready to be installed. It is being put in by George Kilgen & Son of St. Louis, Mo. The organ is of the tubular pneumatic type, having two manuals of sixty-one notes each and a concave radiating pedal board of thirty notes. It contains twenty-six stops of the tablet type, 950 pipes and is controlled by seven pedal movements. Melvin J. Hill and Mrs. Hill have charge of the music of the church. Mrs. Hill is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State School of Music. Mr. Hill is also a university graduate in music. The first paragraph of this brief article was reproduced with slight changes in wording in *The Diapason*, March 1910. The organ was dedicated on February 28, 1910; the dedication recital was reported in the *Wyandott Herald* of March 3, 1910 (see under "Documents").
