2023-02-15 - The contract agreement from 1906 was with Hannah Street Methodist Church, though by 1907 the street name had changed and the name of the church was also changed to Charlton Avenue Methodist Church. The contracted price was $2,500 and included a detached console 16 feet from the quarter-cut white oak case. The church merged with Westmount Presbyterian Church to found Melrose United Church and constructed a new building in another location, which opened in 1929. The former Charlton Avenue Church was sold to a Baptist Congregation and subsequently to First Hamilton Christian Reformed Church. It is believed that the Lye organ was damaged or destroyed in a fire in 1953. A Casavant organ (likely used) was installed by the Reformed congregation circa 1972. -Andrew Henderson
