2023-02-22 - "In March, 1920, after serving only two months as church organist, Mr. J. F. Allen, started the wheels in motion to have the organ rebuilt and expanded. In his letter to Casavant Brothers, he came right to the point: 'St. Andrew's is a fine church, but the organ is a heartbreak being absolutely out of date, badly built and action all wrong!' He did have some good things to say as well: 'The pipes are good and of sweet quality.' " Source: *St. Andrew's United Church, Chatham, Ontario, 1834-1984*, pg. 24. -Ian Mason
