2023-03-27 - From the *Buffalo Courier* (October 19, 1867): "On Thursday last we gave a brief notice of an organ, made by Mr. G. House, of this city, for the First Presbyterian Church, at Lockport, N.Y. The following is a more minute description of this fine instrument, which for its quality of tone and excellence of workmanship cannot readily be surpassed. The key boards or manuals are two in number, compass from CC to G, 56 notes. Pedal keys 25 in number, compass from CCC (16 feet) to C (4 feet) ... The whole is enclosed in a very handsome chestnut case, in the Norman style of architecture, 18 feet high, and covers a space of about 10x14 feet. The front contains 21 gilt speaking pipes - total number of pipes nearly 1,300; total cost of $3,000. The mechanical arrangements for bringing the whole power of the instrument at once under the most perfect control of the performer, are very complete." -Andrew Henderson
