2023-05-08 - From *The Leader-Post* (June 24, 1960): "The new organ will be the first pipe organ to be purchased and installed in Regina for many years. Recently the organs in Knox-Metropolitan United Church and First Baptist Church were rebuilt by an English firm, but no completely new organ has been built in the city since the Second World War. The organ in Lakeview United Church was a rebuild of the old organ taken from Knox Church which stood on Twelfth Avenue at Lorne Street, where the telephone building is now located. St. Mary's organ is a large two manual instrument classic in design, with a baroque principal chorus, six mutations, and a baroque solo reed called Krummhorn. The pedal is complete, with four sixteen foot stops, three of which are full length, including a 16-foot Trombone, and an eight-rank Grand Cornet. An outstanding feature of the organ will be the direct electric action, a Wicks patent. The organ was designed by Lorne Dotterer, organist of Knox-Metropolitan Church in collaboration with Rev. W. Merx, pastor of St. Mary's. The specifications have been accepted and approved by Martin M. Wick, president of the Wicks Pipe Organ Company." -Andrew Henderson
