2023-05-12 - From the *Morning Herald* (November 30, 1889): The new organ for the First Baptist Church is being placed in position, and when the work is completed a concert and recital will be given, so that the public may judge the qualities of the new instrument. The organ is from the establishment of F. A. Peters, Jr., St. John, N.B., and the maker's splendid reputation is a guarantee that it will be a fine one ... The case is stained a dark cherry. The front pipes, which were decorated by Mr. Staples, of St. John, are very rich and thoroughly artistic in their coloring. The arrangement of the pipes is in three panels, broken by towers. The effect is very striking." -Andrew Henderson
