2023-05-17 - According to *The Windsor Star* (June 16, 1928), the organ was opened with a recital by Dr. Louis L. Balogh, organist and choirmaster of St. Peter's Cathedral, London, Ontario. "It is of an exceedingly beautiful tone throughout from the deep sonorous reverberations of the open diapason to the sweet silvery notes of the harmonic flute. From the standpoint of balance of scale, voicing and mechanical control the builder shows not only a deep knowledge of construction but a keen understanding of the mysteries of the works of the musical masters of his instrument will be called upon to reproduce. It is of the two-manuel [sic] type with twenty-three speaking stops capable of either solo work or an innumerable combination of harmonies through which the organist can sway the listener through the entire gamut of the emotion. The outstanding feature, if such a thing is possible where all the component parts are of an excellence that is in itself extraordinary, is the reeds, the builder having achieved something in this section that cannot be excelled for beauty in any other style of organ. This is the second organ that the Canadian Pipe Organ Company has installed in the Border Cities in the past few months, the other one being at St. Rose Church in Riverside and also a very beautiful instrument ..." -Andrew Henderson
