2023-06-19 - St. P et er's had an unsatisfactory organ inst alled sometirme before 1852. The *Musical World* related: At the Catholic Church they have an Organ; but, as Sir Charles Coldstream says in Used up, 'there is nothing in it'-- at least nothing of much importance. This society has been husbanding its resources for the purpose of lavishing them upon their new edifice that is now being built around the old one. When corn.pleted, this will be the most imposing structure in the place; and I suppose the Organ, and other internal appointments, will be on a scale sufficiently grand to harmonise [sic] with the edifice. Their present Organ is a good instrument of its kind, and it is played by Miss Harding (step-daughter of Chancellor Walworth) who has lately abjured Protestantism and embraced the Catholic faith. -- *2006 OHS Organ Atlas* -Paul R.
