Notes

2023-07-16 - From The Churchman, New York, NY., Nov. 4, 1854 IOWA.- The Davenport Banner thus notices a seasonable gift to the church in that rising city:- Trinity parish of this city was presented last week with one of Erben's best church organs, from the city of New York, originally- the generous and noble gift of Gen. George B. Sargent- costing $600, exclusive of freight, expense of setting up, &c., &c. It proved to be an instrument of great sweetness of tone and considerable power and compass, of eight stops, and adapts itself admirably to the loft erected for it and the church building, beside being an ornament, as a piece of furniture to the church. Those who are conversant in such matters speak highly in it's praise. -Steven Bartley
